Test Damaged Cable The USB cable tester can detect whether there is a broken wire inside the cable. If a wire is disconnected, the corresponding LED will not light up. For example, if the D+ and D- data lines of the USB Type-C cable are cut, the D+ and D- LED indicators on the USB tester will not illuminate, as shown in the diagram.
