About this part

The FDROBOT D500 is a 360-degree scanning lidar that uses direct time-of-flight (DTOF) laser ranging to measure distances all the way around it, from 0.03m out to 12m. It's made for robots, giving them the distance data they need for navigation and obstacle avoidance indoors or outdoors.

  • Range: 0.03 to 12m, across a full 360°
  • Speed: 10Hz scan rate and 5000Hz ranging frequency
  • Interface: UART, with ROS1 and ROS2 support and an SDK for Linux
  • Power: 5V
  • Ambient light tolerance: 60kLux; operating temperature -10 to 45°C
  • Weight: 45g

Pair it with a Linux computer running ROS1 or ROS2 to put its scans to work for navigation.
