About this part
The GY-521 is a breakout board for the MPU-6050, which combines a 3-axis gyroscope and a 3-axis accelerometer on one chip. It reports motion data over I2C, for robotics, drone navigation and motion-sensing projects.
- Gyroscope ranges: ±250, ±500, ±1000 or ±2000 degrees per second
- Accelerometer ranges: ±2g, ±4g, ±8g or ±16g
- Built-in 16-bit analog-to-digital converter
- I2C interface; works with 3.3V and 5V logic
- MPU-6050, straight-pin or bent-pin options, in packs of 1, 5, 10, 15 or 30
The full-scale ranges are programmable, and the lowest range that covers your motion gives the finest resolution.

The GY-521 MPU-6050 is a 6-axis motion tracking module that combines a 3-axis gyroscope and a 3-axis accelerometer on a single chip. It features an integrated 16-bit analog-to-digital converter for high-resolution data output and communicates via the standard I2C protocol. This module is widely used in robotics, drone navigation, and motion-sensing projects. It supports a wide range of programmable full-scale settings, including ±250, ±500, ±1000, and ±2000 degrees per second for the gyroscope, and ±2g, ±4g, ±8g, and ±16g for the accelerometer. Compatible with both 3.3V and 5V logic levels, it is suitable for a variety of microcontroller platforms.
