About this part
A breakout board for the VL53L0X time-of-flight sensor, which measures distance by timing how long infrared laser pulses take to bounce back from a target. Because it times the reflection instead of judging its brightness, the reading doesn't depend on how reflective the target is. It suits robot proximity sensing and distance measurement.
- VL53L0X time-of-flight laser ranging sensor
- I2C interface with onboard level shifting
- Onboard voltage regulator, runs from 2.6V to 5.5V
- Two board versions: GY-530 (blue) or VL53L0X (purple)
With the regulator and level shifting on board, it wires straight to 3.3V or 5V microcontrollers over I2C.

Supplier description
Provided by the supplier. Our shipping, returns and support terms apply.
The VL53L0X is a high-precision Time-of-Flight (ToF) laser-ranging sensor module. Utilizing STMicroelectronics' FlightSense technology, this sensor measures the absolute distance to a target by calculating the time taken for emitted infrared laser pulses to reflect back to the detector. Unlike traditional infrared sensors, the VL53L0X provides distance measurements that are independent of target reflectance. This breakout board simplifies integration by providing a voltage regulator and I2C level shifting, allowing for operation with 2.6V to 5.5V power supplies. It is suitable for robotics, proximity detection, and distance measurement applications.
