About this part

Addressable 5050 RGB LED strip in four chip types, two for 5V and two for 12V. A microcontroller or LED controller sets the colours along the strip for lighting effects.

  • 5V types: WS2812B and WS2813; 12V types: WS2811 and WS2815
  • 30, 60 or 144 LEDs per metre on black or white PCB, in lengths from 1 to 5 m depending on the option
  • WS2812B power: 9 W/m at 30 LEDs, 18 W/m at 60 and 43.2 W/m at 144
  • WS2811: one IC drives each group of three LEDs, cuttable every 3 LEDs
  • IP30 non-waterproof, IP65 silicone-coated, or IP67 in a silicone tube with no adhesive backing
  • Power supply and controller not included

Match the supply to the chip type, 5V for WS2812B and WS2813 or 12V for WS2811 and WS2815, and expect solder joints every 0.5 m.
